MySound — Privacy Policy

MySound is a Mac app for playing Radio, Podcasts, Audio, Video, and IPTV — built to keep everything on your own Mac. This page explains, in plain language, what that means for your privacy.

The short version

• MySound does not collect, sell, or share your personal data.
• There is no account, no sign-in, and no tracking of any kind.
• Your favorites, library, and settings are stored only on your Mac.
• MySound never sees your payment details — purchases go through Apple directly.

What stays on your device

Your favorites, playlists, library entries, and app settings (theme, equalizer, colors, and similar preferences) are stored locally in MySound's own sandboxed storage on your Mac. None of it is uploaded anywhere or visible to us.

File access

MySound is sandboxed by macOS. When you open a video, audio file, or a folder, macOS asks you to explicitly grant access to that specific location — MySound never gets broader access than what you approve, and never uploads your files.

Network access — what it's used for

MySound connects to the internet only to do the things you ask it to do:

• Radio: fetching the public station directory from radio-browser.info, and streaming the station you choose.
• Podcasts: downloading the RSS feeds and episodes you subscribe to.
• IPTV: loading the playlists (M3U/M3U8) and program guide (EPG) you add or select.
• Video: streaming from the sources you provide (including public video URLs).
• Casting: discovering AirPlay, UPnP, and DLNA devices on your own local network, so you can send audio/video to them.

None of this involves an account, and none of it is used to build a profile of you.

Song recognition

If you use the song-recognition feature, a short audio snippet is sent to Apple's ShazamKit service to identify the track — this happens through Apple's own infrastructure, under Apple's privacy terms. MySound does not store or see this audio itself.

In-app purchases

MySound Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. MySound never receives, sees, or stores your card number or any billing information — Apple handles all of it, and only tells MySound whether the purchase was successful.

Children's privacy

MySound is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted on this same page with a new "Last updated" date.
